3% Viognier, 97% Syrah
The berries for this Syrah were grown on the river gravels of the te Mata, Havelock North and Bridge Pa appelations. The dry summer and autumnal heat of the 2018 vintage made it possible to capture blackberry, plum and mulberry characteristics with medium tannins. Fruit was picked by hand.
Fermented with 3% Viognier in a mix of new and seasonal French oak barrels, expecvt this wine to become savoury with age, developing gamey pepper and spice notes with increasing complexity.
