2019 Vintage (first batch)

Released at Bottle Stop Sourfest 2019 by Craftwork

For the last six years during the winter months, we have been brewing O'ambic - a spontaneously fermented wheat beer, aged in oak barrels for one or more years, and styled on a traditional lambic. O'ambic ferments because of wild yeasts that land overnight on the wort, which is exposed to the elements in a shallow tray of our 'Coolship'. Each brew is reflective of our local terroir via the wild yeasts that happen to be blown about on that specific night. This beer is a traditional blend of one, two and three year old O'ambic, refermented in the bottle. We are proud to present this beer to you.

Cherish this labor of love on a special occassion.

Unfiltered. Unpastuerized. In the 'trad' methode, for full flavor. Bottle conditioned. Brewed with organic pilsner malt.

About:

Craftwork is a small brewery from Omaru with the intention is to brew small idiosyncratic batches of Belgian inspired ales, without compromise. Founded in 2014 with a 50 litre Braumeister, they decided to brew themselves, from grinding the malt by hand to bottling the finished product.

They have opted to have a legal brewery in their stone basement. This allows them to consider contract brewing and gives the flexibility to dedicate the space to sour ales, usually too wild for most contract breweries to risk. They have won many awards for their beers, and most recently opening a taproom.
