Petane Station is a family owned vineyard situated in Esk Valley, Hawke’s Bay dedicated to the production of boutique single-vineyard wine.
The wines are crafted by Philip Barber, a second-generation viticulturist whose heritage has led him to believe that outstanding wine begins with outstanding fruit. As such he is dedicated to the entire wine growing process - from the site selection and planting of the vines to the making and finishing of the wine.
Care and detail is taken in all aspects of the wine making process, from dry farming, hand picking, using sheep as natural weed control, planting of native trees around the farm, and whole bunch pressing of the fruit. They are a certified Sustainable Wine New Zealand (SWNZ) vineyard and strive to work in harmony with the environment.
