Aromas of green apple fill the nose, with just a hint of honeyed sweetness. The palate is dry with vibrant citrus flavour followed by some tropical notes, the finish is fresh.
Riesling comes in many forms, and this is a perfect example of a drier, more powerful version of the grape. The nose is fragrant and classic - white peach, lime, river stone - and the palate is fairly in-your-face with peachy fruit and less about complexity. Honeyed, beeswax-like richness follows through on the finish, despite the brightness throughout.
The harvest is entirely handpicked.
Gentle extraction is achieved through low pressure pressing and winemaking at a controlled temperature. The wine is matured on fine lees for a period of 4 months, and then filtered. It is stocked in stainless steel vats for several months before being bottled.
