80% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon
Rinascita, which is the Italian word for "rebirth" and also a play on the Italian word for Renaissance (the period during which Tuscany excelled through its artistic and cultutal development), is made from the younger vines of Sangiovese on the RISECCOLI estate, with a small addition of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is "fruit-forward" in style, soft and graceful. Designed for earlier drinking, it will nonetheless show well over a period of 5 years.
Fruit forward and redolent with bright aromas of smokey and spiced dark berries including black and red cherry, blackberry and cassis with a healthy dose of black licorice and toasted oak. A smooth and rich attack with finely grained and softly textured tannins that become more sturdy at mid palate.
The estate has been the property of the family of the famous Florentine artist Romano Romanelli, since 1902. Aesthetics, attention to detail and quality winemaking are the hallmarks of this prestigious estate. Tenuta di Riseccoli has been a member of the “Consorzio del Marchio Storico del Chianti Classico”, Italy’s oldest winemakers’ association, since 1927. The estate produces five red wines as well as a Vin Santo dessert wine and Extra Virgin olive oil of the highest quality. Its Saeculum di Riseccoli wine, a Super-Tuscan blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, has contributed to establishing this estate’s reputation at the forefront of Italy’s boutique wineries.
